In the 1970s, the need arose for a passenger compartment light source in public safety vehicles that was more direct, flexible, and glare-reducing. The inclusion of these lights not only provided better illumination but also contributed to the overall safety of the officers, replacing the standard dome light.
With a longstanding presence in various markets and a reputation for crafting the most dependable task lights, Littlite became the favored choice for map lights in public safety vehicles across the country. For nearly three decades, our core products were distributed by a highly regarded emergency product manufacturer at a national level.
In 2018, we introduced our latest map light featuring cutting-edge Ultra-Violet (UV) LED technology in response to the recent U.S. Government mandate of the REAL-ID law. This law requires UV-embedded markings on photo ID cards and newer currency that can only be detected using a UV light source. Our new map lights offer the option to include all three types of LEDs in a single model, available in different lengths and mounting options to suit various needs.
